Hynesy
Hi, I'm a bit of a noob here , but not to OSx86 and was wondering if anyone can provide some help. I downloaded the kalyway 10.5.1 Leopard DVD a couple days ago and I am having two problems, the first is fairly major and is mentioned in the topic, Leopard fails to boot roughly 80% of the time for some reason, I have watched verbose mode many times, and it normally hangs around "Loginwindow" or "Ethernet Address" and other items that start around those. My second problem is my Realtek 8139 LAN only works very slowly, but thats not a large problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Order2Chaos
More system info would help. Have you tried booting with -v cpus=1 ? My laptop does the same thing unless I specify cpus=1.

Order2Chaos
Copy and paste from someone else's post: To fix this issue without disabling multi-core within the BIOS, load up Terminal, then type: sudo nano /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist edit the Kernel Flags accordingly: <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>cpus=1</string>
Hynesy
Thanks again for the reply Order2Chaos, I fixed my LAN problem, I loaded the iAtkos DVD which I noticed had the required driver, I went customize and unchecked every installation box except my needed driver and clicked install, works flawlessly now. My only problem now is since i change the kernel flag, when i click shutdown, the computer just goes to a blank desktop and I have to hard reboot, I don't lose any data so it's not a big deal, just annoying, any suggestions?
