SOME ONE PLEASE HELP!

i have been at this for days now and am getting nowhere... I have a Gigabyte GA-945GCMX-S2 board where i am trying to install 10.4.11 onto a Seagate 320g SATAII drive...

 

THIS IS NOT GOING WELL... lol. The installer does not see my SATA drive at all.. ok fine, so i insalled to an ATA drive (of course this install works fine) to see if the OS would even recogize the SATA drive...cant see it in finder at all.

 

When I run IOreg -l, i see what i would assume is the system recognizing that the controller is there. I am still learning this, forgive my ignorance on this.
