Im sure ppl will be happy to know that Im up and running on OSX86.

------------------------------------

TPM (Trusted Platform) Crack

Maxxuss v0.4.1 mach_kernel SSE3 emulation

Modified boot files so installation can happen on most Generic x86 PCs

------------------------------------

So the boot from DVD is good. Get into the installation window, I get to use the Disk Utility, I get to format a partition and I make a custom install with base system and the Maxxuss v0.4.1 patch.

Everything installs good, but when I reboot and Darwin starts I get a Gray/Green error screen asking me to restart my machine.

To counter this I tried to select my Mac partition and Restart within the installer, but the waiting indicator just goes on forever - not rebooting at all.

Now Ive been following this forum for a little over a month and I see alot talk about blessing the system folder a.s.o. This is something Im familiar with from Classic - which is the last time I used mac systems - but now its all shell fun. And I cant for the life of me find the one that seems suitable. Ive searched this forum, but theres like a ton of suggestions...what or rather which do I use if this whats presumably wrong with it. Can someone tip me off in the right direction.

Ive tried to do different blessing commands in shell - but without any results. Now Im pretty confident that its not the system folder blessing thats wrong - since Im getting the same error with and without the blessing. Ive also tried advanced startup command on the install cd (f8) rd=disk2s6 and got the same error. So Im kinda back on scratch again. BTW I poked a bit in the profiler and could see that the image that I downloaded was a 10.4.1 version 3 - which suprised me somewhat, since I belived that it was 10.4.3. But I suppose its either a hacked patched 10.4.1 or just a plain 10.4.1 with the added compability from the Maxxus patch.

Btw Im on a Intel - mPGA-478, Northwood SSE2@3Ghz. Intel i875P rev. A2 Chipset, on a Abit IC7-G(Intel i875P-ICH5) motherboard and with a Radeon R350 (9800 PRO) 128MB and SoundBlaster Live EX.

Any takers on this.

A progress update.

Ive taken out all my disks in my PC. Leaving only one(80GB) on the primary IDE controller, set as master and my DVD as slave.

Ive got the same gray/green error page up telling me to reboot after the install and reboot. Could it really be system folder blessing or could it be hardware incompability.

The drive shows up in disk util, dont get any messages about not being able to boot with it....its only one partition, Journaled HFS+.

Ive only got this pre-patched dvd image. Ive been sifting through the net trying to find the best alternativer and as far as Ive seen on this forum, my image should be the one that most ppl has success stories with. Ive seen some diskimages that requires bot patching and converting - Id like to not do that, but I suppose I have to do the dmg convert and patching myself then. I just dont undertand why there so insanely many different images on the net....and why its so difficult to get a pretty precise refferal on which image to use - without linking or doing something illegal.

Install goes OK, kernel panics on booting the system - I've seen a bunch of posts like this lately. Seems more common with 10.4.3 than previous builds. I think there are as many different causes as there are hardware combinations so it's difficult to offer universal advice. Some folks have had problems with the JaS patched 10.4.3 which go away if they use the original iso patched with Maxxuss. Should be the same thing, but apparently not.

Anyway, you're not alone... Now some real guru will tell us all where the problem lies - hopefully.

Well Im not done with this damn install yet. Im now getting 4 different images to try out. Some patched, some very early releases and some more current releases. Ive seen alot of badmouthing on the 1111 image, and heard that one better get the previous version. I dont even know if 1111 is the lates and greates, but for me, which version it is, has less importance then getting it to work and that as stable as possible. That said, Id also like my SS2 puter to be as fast and with as many drivers working as possible. So Im also taking a chance on an image called 1099 something. I just dont quite know which to choose anymore, so I have decided that Im gonna grind my way through them all, until I find one thats working. Any tips when considering my puter specs are very appreciated.

So I managed to get it up. The -you have to reboot- screen turned out to be only the kernel panic default screen. When I finally got that at 2am tonite I was able to debug my installation and it turned out to be the ATI kext files that messed up my boot and nothing else. So now Im typing happily this reply on my new OS. Im quite happy with the performance, though I miss some driver functonality. But as soon as I finally understood where the problem was I found heaps of driver info on this site using search. So now Im gonna filter through all the stuff about GFX drivers, sound bla. bla. bla. The important thing is that its going.

Befor I end my post Id like to give all -Id like that os on my PC too, but what the f...- users a pat on the back. Ive spent 9 hours after I dled the images to get it up and running, and so must you, maybe...if ure not one of the few lucky bastards that installs and -swoop- I got it to work, happy happy joy joy...if ure one of those, be quiet and let us 9-72 hours dudes stay here and sulk in private. So anyway, cheer up guys...Ill get back on this or a new thread and post my -how to- if ya want to....its all up to u now.

Hmmm, lemme see - monitor resolution - check - internet - check - everything else - naaaah, uncheck and get back to u.
