hmm...it doesnt seem too old considering i just installed 10.4.8 on a sony vaio tx series laptop from 2005, i would suggest more memory as i have 1gb but its still not the best. hard drive could also be an issue if your going to run osx natively or have two different operating systems on it. other than that, there really arent any problems with you installing it so i say go for it

If I can run osx on it, it will be my hac-book... not for any other OS. If installation can't be done, I will go with Linux... I almost forgot, some keys are not funtioning...Damn, I have to use usb keyboard.

 

BTW, what is your video card on your sony? Which driver are you using...
