Inspiron 1100 OSX issue

So when I install mac OS X 10.4 everything functions alright until I restart and it goes into the apple logo when the processing icon and all of a sudden it just STICKS and stays but I can hear the first-run music playing in the background.

 

So what in the world is going on with it, anything that can be fixed?

 

I have an Inspiron 1100

256mb ram

60 gb HDD

CD/DVD burner
