Hello

Someone can tell me if the Intel CPU E2140 can use with original kernel (and EFI)

I've found some topics but no good answers.

On netkas.org, is writed E2140 can use EFI, but the original Kernel Too ?

Because I want replace my little Celeron 420 (can't use with original's Kernel, reboot reboot reboot)

but no enough money for buy a big Core2Duo, so E2140 is good for me .

Thank's

Cyberbac.

E2140 works with original kernel and EFI just fine... both 10.4 and 10.5

Remember, E2140 is just AFAIK same architecture as Core 2 Duo, it's Allendale core, just with smaller cache and no virtualisation.

And it's working in my box just fine :(

i've found in my ASROCK 4coredual-VSTA :

- ACPI HPET TABLE : enabled or disabled

- No-execution Mémory Protection (XD) : enabled or disabled

I try 4 options, nothing.

But i'm tired to search, search, search !!!

:dev::P:(

Cool little Hackintosh

I think only Core 2 Duo that can use Vanilla Kernel.

Celery 420's and Pentium Dual-Cores are just a "branding" name for low cost ghetto processors. They are all based "Core TM" technology. I run an E2160 which is basically a core duo with 1Mbyte of L2 and an 800mhz fsb. It does not include Vt-x but has x64.

I guess then it's really a Core2 but as you can see, Core, Core2, etc was a BAD branding move on intels part. It's really confused people.

"Core2 Quad means what again?"

Bottom Line - PCEFI will work just fine.

I'm using Core Duo D820, but keep on reboot when using vanilla kernel. Anybody could give advise? Thanks.
