The ASUS P5E-VM HDMI is going to be released soon... I haven't built a hackintosh but I plan on building one very soon!

I want to build a computer that I can work on with my design work (illustrator, indesign, photoshop etc.) while in the OSx environment. I have been a PC person my whole life but have realized that the industry I am about to step into is basically 100% MAC lol.

Anyway... I want this computer to be small utilizing a mATX board. I already have a big P180b filling up space in my room so I'd like to avoid wasting more of it. I also may want to make this computer double as a dual booting HTPC (the main reasons why I have selected this motherboard). My question is... can anyone forsee any trouble ahead of me?

Here is a link to ASUS's website for the board... http://usa.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&amp...amp;modelmenu=1 and here is a link to newegg for an easy to view run down http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813131237 .

I haven't decided whether I will be dropping in a quad yet... I will probably put in 2GB's of memory for now along with an all SATA setup. Will I need to purchase a video card or will I be able to whip the onboard into working. I have experience in OCing (my pc's base is an abit ip35-e with an e6300 clocked at 3.2ghz... and still pushing :thumbsup_anim:) so I have no ruled that out yet... but i'm more conscerned with getting a working system. The way I see it... if this doesn't work out then I still have a nice working HTPC!!!

I figured before just jumping into the fire... I would ask around first. For those too lazy to post.. I have included a poll lol.

I'm in a similar position, except I'd be using this for music production rather than graphics, and have found this motherboard very appealing. I found this in the Genius Bar sub-forum: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=73046

Allsop says it's a killer board for OSX, but since I'm a sub-n00b to all of this, I'm not sure there's a lot of detail as to how it was done (ie. which version of 'modified' OSX was used, etc.). But he has included a lot of the kernel extensions needed - which was very cool. I may get the courage to ask some fairly basic questions in that thread. :)
