EricJD
Hi, I'm following the instructions here. My computer has a floppy drive, but it doesn't work. Is there some sort of boot CD I could use as an alternative to "A diskette with spfdisk"? Also, the patch it mentions on the site... What does it do? If my computer supports SSE3, do I need it anyway?
gman.php
You can use a Linux-Live-Cd instead, like Knoppix. (www.knoppix.org) This Live-CDs have fdisk, too! The Patch does a Kernel Update. YOu can find more Details on the Authors WebSite (I don't know all reasons for that patch): EDIT: Removed content violating DMCA Greetz, G-Man Edited February 17, 2006 by Metrogirl
EricJD
Okay, so how do I work fdisk in Ubuntu Live?
DrJägermeister
Okay, so how do I work fdisk in Ubuntu Live? cfdisk is more powerfull, it's on every live CD. Maybe you has to use sudo for Ubuntu until you don't have created the user root. cfdisk /dev/hda (change /dev/hda with your disk)
sektor
I have a bootable cd image file I can give you which has no strings attatched I just downloaded a win98 boot disk and customized it using winImage. you can get fdisk working that way or if you have a bootable cd with partition magic you can use that as well.
