I'm using an ide dvd rom, if I buy an ide harddisk can i able to install? or the only way is getting an sata dvd rom? ---- Also I'm open new ideas, how to install? SMF Posted December 9, 2007 Share Posted December 9, 2007 Elrohir, I've installed Tiger by setting the JMicron Controller - listed as the "Onboard SATA/IDE Controller" in the BIOS to IDE mode and putting the ICH9R - listed as the "SATA/RAID AHCI Mode" in the BIOS to AHCI. Once I've installed I set the JMicron Controller to AHCI mode. This worked for me with JAS 10.4.8 and XxX 10.4.10 but not with Uphuck 1.4. I would try it this way.
