Hallo

i updated my 10.5 Leopard to 10.5.1 and since then my LG DVD Burner is not recognized anymore: It just says "no drives"

but under about my mac it is under ata:

Modell: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-H42L

Version: SL01

Seriennummer: K296CR62418

Absteckbares Laufwerk: Nein

Protokoll: ATAPI

Einheiten-Nummer: 0

Socket-Typ: Intern

but under dvd burner it says again "there was no burner found"

what can I do to be again able to read and write dvds?

but dvd burner shows no device connected and in the top list ist also says no Drives

It must be some kind of software problem because it worked before the update.

Does nobody know a sloution??

I think youl need a SATA/PATA kext driver for it, i used kalyways 9a527 DVD to get the KEXT, and i'm currently running my HDD x4 and 2 x DVD from this! WHere you get it i'm not sure as this was an install option on the DVD

maybe this points you in the right direction???

I'm not sure if this is related at all to the original problem, but this thread made me think of a problem I ran into yesterday.

I switched from the AppleSMBIOS.kext that came with ToH to the one that came with pc_efi v8.0 and started gettign kernel panics on any cd or dvd that tried to "autoload". When i switched back the problem went away.

I also got mucked up Profiler Data out of the pc_efi AppleSMBIOS.kext and it's perfect with the original. (Meaining original from ToH R2 Intel Only)
