madzie
Hello people! I've been playing around with this Mac OSX x86 for months now, playing with the various builds and such, so I'm going to ask a question that I hope isn't too stupid! I have a few PCs that run MAC OSX x86 well, but by far the best is a PC I picked up from a liquidation auction for £30. It's a Fujitsu Siemens SCENIC p300, P4 2.66ghz, running the i865 chipset. Flawless install with the new 10.4.1 build, it runs like a dream. Graphics work great and network too, only the on-board sound is a problem. It's a SoundMax Digital Audio. I thought it was a worthwhile sacrifice, but then I discovered that it would be made to work! I see on the HCL lists that it can be made to work by copying a certain AC97 kext file accross, but thats as far as I could go as there were no more instructions. Can anyone shed any light for me? I have: MacOSX x86 10.4.1 (Marklar) DVD MacOSX x86 10.4.3 8f1111 DVD If I reformat using the 8f1111 DVD, is that modified file on it? Thanks again! Madzie.
