I just cloned my system drive to a larger hard drive using Acronis (in Vista). When I plugged my new drive into the same sata port my old drive was in, everything booted perfectly to my surprise.

However, I'd now like to expand the partition. (Not to mention create a new mac partiton on the 400gb drive I'm using for Vista on an 80gb partition). Disk Utility won't let me do this, so I need to use iPartition.

However, I need to do so by booting the Coriolis (ipartition) boot disc, which is essentially a Tiger boot disc. Obviously, this doesn't work on my hackintosh. Is there any way to make a bootable 3rd party disc, or add a utility to the toh disc etc?

I can imagine needing to do this with DiskWarrior someday too.

EDIT: Given the problems some people have been having with DiskWarrior, this leads me to ask whether ipartition will screw up my system partition should I try to resize it. Is there any way around this?

EDIT 2: After mucking around a bit, I discovered an easier way to do all this, but leaving this here, as I'm still interested in the answer. Here's the thread I just posted on partition expansion and cloning etc. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=75422
