i downloaded 10.5.1 with the Toh kernel 9.1.0,

and no matter what, it refuses to see any of my HD's, sata or ide, slave, master, cable select, secondary or primary, nada.

some people reckon i need to edit AppleVIATA.kext, but how can i if i can't install it, and i would like to install it on a ide HD before i do it on a sata,

and other people reckon, its because of my ATI 200x chipset, if so, what can i do?

:(

Look in your BIOS and see if there is an option for ACHI on your disk controller. This will allow you to install at least -- post install you could try to modify the KEXT to get full support. I assume ATI chipsets generally are not well supported in OSX86 so it might be a bit of a dead end. ACHI should at least get you up & running if you have the option in your BIOS.
