AppleIIGuy
I have 2 2gb Ram modules in my Macbook System Profiler, About This Mac, Activity Monitor and the Top Command in Terminal all Report 4 GB Ram but the Apple webpage and others say it only uses 3 GB ram. consolation
Assuming you have a 945 based macbook, the chipset can only address 3.2 GB. The rest of the address space is needed for system buses etc... That tallies up with your screen shots, where there's only 3GB available, 1GB used and 2GB free. skyhighmac
The brand new macbooks can physically address the 4gb or ram. 1st and 2nd gen macbooks can't.
