Dual boot Leopard/Vista

I've successfully installed OSX Leopard and Windows Vista on one disk, using the Darwin bootloader. My problem is this; I can only get OSX to boot in AHCI mode (ICH9R), but Vista refuses to regonize my SATA drives in this mode. I have to change my BIOS settings everytime I want to boot into the other os. I've tried a few solution to get Vista to boot with AHCI, editing some values in regedit etc...

Is it possible to get OSX to boot without AHCI? Anyone tried the Intel Matrix Storage Manager, and does it work? I'm a bit hesitant to install alot of drivers when I don't know the effects of it... I hate to screw up my almost perfect install once more!
