blase
My box is running 10.5.1 pretty stable so far, and I'm ready for part 2 of my plan. I want to install an i-ram drive (a cheap solid state 4Gb DDR SATA drive) and install all the core OS files on it as the main partition. Basically I'm guessing that even the stripped down system install (5.8Gb) is probably not more than a gig or 2 of crucial files. So I'm basically looking for a way of moving (and re-linking) non-critical parts of the OS to a separate partition. Does anyone know of a way that I could pull off something like that? Thanks for reading.
thegodfaza
I removed all the language translations, printer drivers, and developer tools and got to about 3 gigs.
blase
You're talking about the DVD, right? I mean the actual uncompressed installed OS.
