When I try to transfer video off a Canon HG10 via USB within FCP or iMovie it crashes the application immediately. In iMovie the program opens and then crashes immediately with the camera plugged in. In FCP it will run but when you select Log & Transfer it crashes out immediately. Running EFI v52, Vanilla Kernel and Vanilla AppleSMBIOS.kext. Anyone have any ideas?

If you play DIVX or such in Quicktime you may have installed it and forgot. Just check your System Preferences.

The other work around is to pay a few Dollars for Voltaic and that should work for you.

Not to sound like an idiot, but what exactly am I looking for and where in preferences concerning Divx. I really appreciate the help.

Click the thing in the dock that looks like a bunch of gears.. Then look under Other *It's below System*... You will see something that looks like a Red Swiss Army Knife, says Perian below it... If you have that, then THAT is your problem. Click on it and click Remove *dont worry it just disables it*. That should fix your issue.
