Catevs
I have installed EFI patch v8 and I use mach_kernel from original OSX install DVD. When Darwin loads it shows EFI... something (too fast to see instantly graphic screen) That should be sign that EFI is successfully installed but when i run Geekbench or "About this Mac" it shows like Hackintosh. Where did I go wrong? (When I boot width "-V" i don't see any error or panic) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/74777-efi-problem/ Share on other sites

Where did I go wrong?(When I boot width "-V" i don't see any error or panic) Geekbench detects my system as Hackintosh because I am using a different AppleSMBIOS.kext as the original kext doesn't give me a working system profiler. Where in the Hardware Overview does it say Hackintosh? For the Model Identifier, or Boot ROM Version? For comparison, mine is: http://flibblesan.co.uk/files/macpro.png You might want to try the hacked AppleSMBIOS.kext if you aren't running it already. It's at http://flibblesan.co.uk/files/AppleSMBIOS.kext.zip Can you also open up your terminal and do a 'uname -a' without the quotes. Just to check you have the correct kernel loaded. Catevs
uname -a says: Darwin XX-X-X-X.adsl.net.t-com.hr 9.0.0 Darwin Kernel Version 9.0.0: Tue Oct 9 21:35:55 PDT 2007; root:xnu-1228~1/RELEASE_I386 i386 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/74777-efi-problem/#findComment-529143 Share on other sites
Catevs
I must be doing something wrong. I'm using original AppleSMBIOS & AppleEFIRuntime kexts and now "About This Mac" & System Profiler shows strange readings. odb
I have the exact same problem and I have the exact same kernel ID as you, so, I too would appreciate a response to this issue as it is not unique to one person. qbattersby
I am having this problem with it showing hackintosh as well, it is clearly the applesmbios.kext doing so, which is unfortunate, although I dont want to switch to the vanilla and possibly lose my lovely system profiler. If a solution is found I would be very interested. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/74777-efi-problem/#findComment-534774 Share on other sites
