slm17 Posted January 22, 2006 Share Posted January 22, 2006 hi there. thanks first for all the work on forum and wiki, it really helped me a lot with installing! first the installation went well, i used Install_On_A_Partition_Simple_And_Accurate method, described in the wiki. i installed it after xp on a dell inspiron 8200 it also boots and runes [after removal of tpa file]. but the sysem is not very stable [safari crashes etc] have read about in the forums and did not sucess to fix. i also would like to try newer ati drivers. anyway - so i tried to upgrade to 10.4.3 [patched dvd]. installation stats, i can select the existing osx, then i choosed upgrad. setup continues, does nearly finish [says 5 min left] and hangs there forever. the last line in the log is: "IOperforming post extraction actions" any ideas? dont want to give up at this point...
