runstop
hey everyone.. after lurking and reading tons and tons of posts I have a booting leopard! I was so happy when I saw the welcome to X movie! However, I've seen it about a dozen times now.. I installed brazil, patched the APPLESMBIOS.KEXT and dsmos.kext kexts.. installed efi. everything was great. but now it shows me the movie, i click through the initial setup and get to the transfering from another mac dialog. I check that I don't have another mac.. it then freezes and goes back to the movie about a minute later. There is a 'Setup Assistant_2007...crash' file created in /Library/Logs Is says: Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS) Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at 0x0000000000000000 Crashed Treahd: 0 Could I have installed the wrong kernel or something? Any help is appreciated. Cheers, runstop Oh, Guess I should mention what i'm using Mb: Asus p5b-vm SE CPU: Core 2 Quad 6600 4gig ram 500gig wd drive

Doug the Impaler
Try enabling your serial ports...I have a P5B-Plus that would loop back to the movie when trying to do setup until I enabled my serial ports. I have NO IDEA why that worked, other than I saw it on this forum somewhere else.
runstop
Interesting... I do remember that I disabled them in the bios. I'll try that out tonight. Thanks for the reply!

pel0nman
I had the same problem and the only solution I found was to import my settings from a time machine file made by my mac with just my user name.. I tried everything (except installing tiger and stuff like that) and that was the only way I made it work
