Jas 10.4.8 on Tosh M200 - strange gfx promblem

Hiya

 

Ok so ive been messing around with my Toshiba M200 and osx, I see other people seem not to have many problems, but I’ve got one odd problems i hope someone can advise me with!!

Once I’ve got it installed, it boots up no problem, audio and all!

 

The first setup screens work fine, but when i click apple -> about this Mac it crashes and reloads back to the desktop

 

But more worryingly if I drag a window it distorts the graphics, like you used to get in windows when it hangs! (not explained very well, please see attached image!)

 

I’ve heard some people saying that the macvidia installer beta 2 got full resolution working, but I can’t seem to find the installer, and there site says its offline!

 

I’m using the JAS 10.4.8 DVD and the id of the card is 0x010de (it’s a nVidia GeForce FX Go5200)

 

Any thoughts would be great!
