Any suggestions on getting graphics or network support with x86 Leo, for a GeForce 6150SE NVIDIA nForce 430, and an onboard Marvell Yukon 88E8053 PCI-E ethernet adapter? forcedeth doesn't seem to throw any errors, but it doesn't work. And adding the leonvidia folders to /System/Library/Extensions causes Leopard to stop booting on my system.

I have tried both the flat install image, and the ToH 10.5.1 DVD. I have been able to install both successfully on my system, but I can't get past the step of getting graphics or network support. I've seen several suggestions for both, but so far nothign has worked in either case.

Strangely enough, the "About This Mac" patch seems to work for me only after installing with the ToH DVD. It doesn't work on my system with the flat image method.

So far, stuff that worked on my system:

Stuff that didn't seem to hurt, but didn't help:

  • The latest NVinject for Leopard (installed, but no change in graphics)
  • forcedeth drivers (seemed to load without errors, but no network connection)
  • IONetworkingFamily fix (still get UUID warnings on boot and when testing forcedeth drivers)
  • AppleYukon.kext fix: my system has an AppleYukon2.kext, but no AppleYukon.kext. Tried editing AppleYukon2.kext/Info.plist (since mine is an 88E8053, I believe my replace string should be 0x435311AB ... but this example for AppleYukon.kext uses my card as the base string to be replaced?)

Stuff that crashed/broke the install:

  • leonvidia fix (caused kernel panic)

If you have any other network or graphics suggestions, please let me know.

with the NVInject auto installer - i suppose there isn't much difference. i may have the same results actually. the card is recognised under system profiler and it says however it says quartz extreme is unsupported

i am unable to change the screen resolution...

i suppose we have to wait for a newer nvidia driver before quartz extreme is available.

Those are exactly the same results I got, which was how my system was before installing NVinject. :)
