Shiftedx
Hey everyone so I have just installed the AMD dvd found on this forum here http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=73524 now I've installed perfectly fine and everything but I get this error with a black screen and a "_" because there's no bootlaoder. I try to make it active by typing the command... fdisk -e/dev/rdisk0 update f1 w q but that does nothing what it does is it says illegal operation by fdisk When it does owrk though it says its a read only file system. Any help with this would be seriously greatly appreciated I'm dying to get this os running on my system as I am a huge mac fan that can't afford an actual mac =[ thank you everyone I'm sure this topic will help plenty of others too Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/74563-problems-with-leopard-booting-please-help/ Share on other sites

numberonekiwi
I myself had several problem but most are finally solved The way I got around this booting problem (I am assuming it is installed to HD) is I first installed a working 10.4.8 version and applied the patches required then installed 10.5 to the same drive without using disk utility in 10.5 and then booted with -legacy -v but this can be done in the com.apple.boot.plist file I also replace the mach_kernel with a hacked kernal for AMD SSE2 I know it is a long winded way of doing it but I am now running 10.5 on AMD SSE2 having trouble with about this mac crashing so searching the forums for any fixes when I saw your post Good luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/74563-problems-with-leopard-booting-please-help/#findComment-527399 Share on other sites
