Mugwog
I want to take some film footage from various dvd films I worked on and do some basic mix and mashing of footage for my reel in iMovie. Currently I've tried using MactheRipper - Handbrake - and Mpeg Stream. I just converted to Mac and am unfamiliar with the standards of codecs needed for Mac. I keep getting .avi files with rippers that I cannot edit with iMovie, I tried .mp4 also, no luck, (apple program doesn't like apple format?) So what can I do (freeware wise or payware wise) to be able to edit with iMovie and produce a dvd reel. I also want to keep the highest quality possible. I use a 2.2 macbookpro. jonokti
Open the .VOB files with MPEG streamclip and export it as a Quicktime file choose Apple DV/DVC Pro-NTSC (or PAL if that applies to you) for Compression then import to iMovie.
