Help installing

Ok im installing it on my mom`s mac and its been with the messege:

Installing Mac OS X on the volume "****`s HD"

 

And time remaining: Calculating...

Its been like this for 2 hours also the log reads:

__Installer_Script_Springboard__[168]: /Volumes/****`s HD/private/tmp/scripts.aiKH

__Installer_Script_Springboard__: line 13: s: command not found

Please help!!!

I have successfully installed leopard on my machine.
