Cdnalsi
Okay so I have 2 computers. Both the laptop(on wireless) and the desktop(through ethernet) are getting internet from the router. How do I connect these 2 into a file-sharing network without adding more cables and stuff. Somebody please show me the light! Cheers! consolation
They should already be networked. The router should assign appropriate IPs and bridge between wired and wireless parts. Check the routers settings, although if you can't connect it's probably an OS issue. What OS are you running? Cdnalsi
XP SP2 on both. So I need to do a bridge, or check my router config for what? Cheers! Funny thing, I don't know why is this, but it seems both my computers have the same IP address. When I click on ipchicken.com - it's the same on both computers. The IP and all the DNS is set to Automatically Obtain from ISP option... Weird. You also have an Internal IP Address which is assigned by your Network and Wireless Router. One thing you can do is find your Internal IP Address. The easiest way is to go to lower-right hand corner (where they have the time). Double-click on the icon that looks like two computers (Ethernet) -or- like an antenna broadcasting (Wireless). This will pull up a window. Click on the Support Tab and take note of your IP Address. If you do this on both computers, you will notice the IP Addresses are different for each. --danyel Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/74111-how-to-set-up-a-wireless-network/#findComment-524101 Share on other sites
