magic0200
As stated in the topic, I've been doing some reading and found remote buddy and currently have a Dell Hackintosh thats 10.4.10. From what I can tell people are happy with this driver and you really only need a USB to Bluetooth Dongle for it to work. However, my question is if anyone has tried using this with 1st hand knowledge and can the classic remote / nunchuck work as well when connecting to the wiimote. What I want is to be able to use the Wiimote for NES games, the Classic Controller for Snes, Gen, Mame.... ETC Thanks for any advise/help on this matter. http://www.wiili.org/index.php/Remote_Buddy#Interface Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/74039-remote-buddy-bluetooth-dongle-classic-controller/ Share on other sites
elfdood
Yep, I purchased this software and it does everything the Apple remote I also purchased and more... With the leopard front row and remote buddy, you really do have a sweet looking media center... If you have any specific questions m8, let me know.. magic0200
Thanks for the reply Elf. My only other question is have you tried using this driver with the Remote and Classic Remote attached to it. I would love to play my emulators with this setup (SNES9X, ROCKNES, MAME) and just wanted to know if they are recognized. Also, I assume that I can pick up a USB/Bluetooth dongle at any computer store (best buy, staples....My pickings are slim where I live for stores ha)? elfdood
I got a $6 generic bluetooth and it was fine m8...now unfortunately I do not have a classic controller so I cannot answer the one question you have I have only used it to control Front row etc. The software is very good and often updated..I purchased nearly a year ago and still get updates...I paid 9.99 euros I think and it was/is well worth it. I was looking at the page you linked to m8, and on their it says it will not do what you want it to do: Status Remote Buddy supports * all buttons on the remote * the IR mouse mode * multiple remotes * an IR sensor view * waking the Mac® with the connected remote * energy saving options and low battery warning The Classic Controller and Non Chuk are currently not supported. magic0200
That sucks! I emailed them about the question too hoping that I could request them to add an HID setting for this to work. Right now I just have my usb remote and it works fine for front row, but I was dying to use my Wii system for my old NES/SNES games. It beats using the Wii itself (graphic enhancements, save states, etc...) Thanks again for your help. magic0200
Update I got an email that said he'd work on the Classic but has no ETA on when that could become available. Just have to wait and see.
