johnhlaj
Here is what I have tried so far on my HP ze4540ca laptop: Burnt the tiger-x86-flat.img to a DVD cause I dont have an external drive available to me. booted my system with SLAX live CD with "slax toram" option at boot so I could have access to the dvd-rom drive. did the dd bs=1048576 if=./tiger-x86-flat.img of=/dev/hda after mounting the DVD tried to boot and all I got was an apple so for options I am using io=0xFFFFFFFF which was really important to get it booting for some reason. rd=/dev/hda I dont know if it is even necessary platform=X86PC just because it seems to make sense since this is an X86PC -x and -v for safe mode and verbose It boots for about 10 minutes with lots of text on the screen then gets to a blue screen with a cursor which will not move with touch pad at all. Then eventually dumps me to the login and blinks at me to enter the "bovinity" password If anyone has any other commands they used at boot that I am not using I'd like to know what they are and what they do. I'd really like to get my trackpad and keyboard working Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/736-my-progress/ Share on other sites

johnhlaj
ok now it only seems to boot once and only after I reload the image ... a 1/2 hour job. these are the commands I am using at boot -v io=0xffffffff platform=X86PC Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/736-my-progress/#findComment-4543 Share on other sites

johnhlaj
the speed problem was fixed with after I deleted the acpitpm file it loaded at boot and applied the sse3 emulation patch. but still I can only boot 2 times then it hangs and wont boot again.
