devan00
I sucessfully installed 10.4.10 and then tried to boot. When in verbose mode I don't see any errors at all. Once the GUI starts up, it just stays at a blue screen and won't move past it. I get a little bit of hard drive activity but nothing else, not even a mouse cursor. If i safe boot (-x) then everything works fine, I even get the native 1920x1200 resolution on my monitor and the system boots fine. But the whole system has such a lag that it is almost impossible to do anything. What could be the problem? I have a ECS P4M800pro-m motherboard with a nvidia 6200 agp graphics. I've tried NVInject and Natit 0.2 with identical results. Deleting the kext caches didn't help. devan00
Is this a loginwindow.app problem? A graphic card kext problem? Some other kext problem? What makes the difference for safe boot that makes it work (and why is it SLOOOW)? devan00
OK figured out it was the Via SATA/PATA kext that i was installing (i have a via chipset). Once I reinstalled without that, it boots up OK just like before in safe boot. But the system is still very very slow. If i move the mouse, nothing registers for like 5 seconds, then it moves across the screen. I noticed the installer was a little sluggish as well but not nearly as bad. the mouse was smooth, but when I would click the expansion arrows when choosing install options, it would take like 2-3 seconds to expand/collapse the items.
