Jaketone
I am curious to hear where everyone who dual boots (Windows & OS x), actually decided to do so. And what are the benefits of duo booting and is any functionality lost from either OS? The reason I am asking is because I just bought my first MAC ever and am wondering if it would be just as benifical to return it, get my money back, and install OS X on my PC? I currently have, what I consider, a GREAT PC setup: Windows Vista Ultimate 24" Dell Widescreen Monitor 4 Gigs of ram (only 3 gigs are viewable with 32-bit) 2 Intel Core 2.66 GHZ 230 gig HD Do you think I should? Synaesthesia
The benefits are you get to run both os'es and switch between them. There are no down sides. It really just depends on how well your pc is supported by Mac OS X. Check the wiki HCL -> http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.4.8 I say keep your Mac, nothing runs Mac OS X as well as a Mac, and use your pc for windows stuff...gaming etc. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73372-why-did-you-decide-to-dual-boot-and-should-i/#findComment-518788 Share on other sites
