Hey All,

 

This is a bit of a newb question, but I just don't give a damn. :(

 

The Bad Axe 2 motherboard specs at newegg.com list that it has no video chipset, yet it has your standard video ports on the board. My question is: do I need to get a seperate video card then?

 

Told ya it was stupid. :D

That port that kinda looks like VGA is actually a serial port (legacy ports FTW!)

 

So yes, you need a separate video card. ;)

 

Thanks! I thought so when I saw there was no video chipset, but the extra ports confused me.

 

What's generally considered the most compatible video card? I checked at wikipedia but sometimes it's better to ask the folks down in the trenches, if you know what I mean.

FYI - the 7300 LE doesn't need PCIe power; it gets everything it needs from the leads in the slot itself. :(

 

Really? Awesome! I didn't really want to pick a new case, the Dynex case I used to build my Wife's computer is nice and I wanted to use that for mine.
