diogan
Hey All, This is a bit of a newb question, but I just don't give a damn. The Bad Axe 2 motherboard specs at newegg.com list that it has no video chipset, yet it has your standard video ports on the board. My question is: do I need to get a seperate video card then? Told ya it was stupid.
BOL_fan
That port that kinda looks like VGA is actually a serial port (legacy ports FTW!) So yes, you need a separate video card.

I thought so when I saw there was no video chipset, but the extra ports confused me. What's generally considered the most compatible video card? I checked at wikipedia but sometimes it's better to ask the folks down in the trenches, if you know what I mean.
BOL_fan
I picked up one of these for my Bad Axe 2; it's an open box deal on a 7300 LE http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...82E16814127273R Works 100% with OSx86, and it's fine for anything up to light gaming. You can't beat that price with a club!!
diogan
That's perfect; I'll be ordering everything else from new egg anyway. Hmmm... I'll have to get a different case/PS; the one I had picked out doesn't have a PCIe connector.
BOL_fan
FYI - the 7300 LE doesn't need PCIe power; it gets everything it needs from the leads in the slot itself.

I didn't really want to pick a new case, the Dynex case I used to build my Wife's computer is nice and I wanted to use that for mine.
