My situation is this, I have the 8f1111a 10.4.3 image patched and ready to go but lack a DVD copy of it or a drive to burn one with and was wondering if there is any alternative way to get it installed. For reference, I've tried deadmoo's image and don't want to go that route again.

I'm planning on installing it on a blank drive (as in, no partitions), so what I'm thinking is somehow dumping the installation DVD's contents onto that drive and making it bootable... but I'm not sure how/if that's possible. I'm also thinking I could somehow create a 2.8GB (or however big the image is) partition on that drive, dump the contents and boot from that and install on the other half of the drive.

And also, before anyone tells me I should, I know I can borrow someone's drive or ask them to burn it for me. I'd just rather not do that if I don't have to, which is why I'm looking into this for the time being.

Any ideas?

Or maybe I could mount it as a virtual drive in another computer and then LAN boot from it? Is that even possible?

I'm willing to try anything. I really want to get this running.

you can use Vmware it will let you install from a DVD image onto a hard disc then "boot native" there have been guides written if you're not sure what to do but it's usually quite straight forward

I'm giving this a go right now. I'll let you know how it works.

Great idea, by the way.
