funkydude101
trying to get final cut pro to work (after it didn't work with wesleys patched iso), i got the original macosx_10.4.3_8f1111_for_dtk_userdvd.dmg and converted it to iso and patched it with JaS's 4.2b patch I'm running OS X on a separate HD at the moment, booted up that HD and was given "Your hardware configuration is not supported by Darwin/x86" when i booted with the new installation dvd.... what's so special about this dvd that it does this...it does this on my laptop too. wesleys at least gets to the grey apple logo on my laptop (but i get the circle with the slash on it), but JaS's doesn't go. carloswong
i got the original .dmg too and converted it to .iso with ultraiso, checked the checksum before and after and they matched with the sums mentioned in Jas's readme, then patched it with jas's and then checked again, burned to dvd-r with nero, check files. pressed f10 on boot and selected dvd drive with the dvd-r inside. black screen with white letters "this hardware configuration is not supported by Darwin/x86 (3)" what is that supposed to mean. i followed this guide: http://blog.phnews.org/wp/2006/01/25/how-t...-your-pclaptop/ and this guide: http://profit42.com/guides.php?id=1 intel pentium 4 northwood 2.40ghz mmx sse sse2 intel d865gbf chipset i865p/pe/g/i848p ddr-sdram 512mb lg combo dvd drive intel integrated graphics, soundmax Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7242-your-hardware-configuration-is-not-supported-by-darwin/#findComment-50718 Share on other sites
Metrogirl
This is not unusual and I don't know where the problem lies. There have been many posts of good installs with JaS followed by a failure to boot with a kernel panic. JaS has done a lot of hard work and knows what he's doing so I can only guess that there are some hardware combinations that fall over with the various patched kexts and so on. I solved this problem by re-installing a minimally-patched Maxxuss 10.4.3 OVER a successfully installed but non-booting JaS - using the Upgrade option. That allowed me to boot and it seemed to retain the kexts for PS/2 which JaS had installed. I have great respect for JaS and his awesome patch has worked for countless people. I know that some of the problems will be bad burns, user errors (not me :pirate2: ) and so on rather than his patches but it really does seem that some people can't get JaS to work on their systems when Wesley/Maxxuss are fine. Edit: some people are pointing to display problems with JaS and some hardware. That might be a place to look.
