acer 5101 help please

hi, i've download uphuck 10.4.9a it installed fine when i switch it on it gets to the white screen with apple logo on loads for a bit then some music starts and after another 20secs or so a voice starts talking saying i can set up my mac via the keyboard if i can see the screen.

now its still on the white screen at this point so i can't go any further.

 

does anyone know why? is it driver related(i used the ati x1100 driver)
