Hi all,

I'm about to build up a system to install Leopard onto and would like to hear your thoughts on my hardware choices. So far I have decided on;

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R

Case: AOpen H360A (Black/Silver) <--- I'd be interested if anyone has one of these as the photos on the net are tiny!!

Ram: 3GB DDR2

HDD: Segate Baracuda 750GB (SATAII)

GFX: NVidia 7300 GT <--- (I presume the actual card manufacturer doesn't matter? - Innovision, XFX, Leadtek etc..)

CPU: Intel C2D <--- Haven't decided which.. any recomendations that are good VFM?

I'll be using the onboard LAN and Sound - Which hopefully work under OSX :)

I'm hoping to dual boot between OSX and Vista, my desires for OSX are to have working Sound & LAN with GFX at 1680 x 1050 and GFX acceleration working.

Any thoughts or pointers on this setup ?

Many Thanks

Swifty

Oops.. just realised that I should have put this into the OSx86 Homebrew Hardware section... any chance a mod could move it for me ?Cheers

Your specs look well.But why only 3 GB of RAM?Have a look at the LianLi Case in my spec. Its really a good one.The 7300GT should work.Depending on what you would like to do with the machine, you may consider a Q6600 Quad CPU. I do dula booting with two different harddisks, not with partitions - but i dont need it very much caus i am running parallels und osx for my few necessary windows apps.sound and lan work well with patches. for network go here: The RTGMac v1.16 driver works well. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry438746For Audio go here:http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry436207The Gigabyte Boards a really great.If you have questions: ask.Ah sorry, now i saw that you are looking for a desktop case. o.k, then forget the lian li...http://www.epiacenter.de/images/tests/h360a/32.jpg

Thanks for your reply, I'm not necissarily looking at a desktop as I'd be using that AOpen with its stands to make it vertical.

I would actually like to go with a cube case thats nice and small but there doesn't seem to be much out there that takes MATX boards - everything seems to be barebones for cubes which means I'm stuck with the board they give you, most of which probably don't play nice with osx.

Initially I'll have 3GB of ram because I've already got that laying around.. I'll probably get another 1gb stick when I order the bits I need and then I can run the 4x 1GB sticks in dual channel ?!

Cheers
