Templeton Peck
http://www.pangeasoft.net/nano2/downloads.html The final version is finally out (pun intended). And as hard as it may be to believe, this game can only muster 1024x768 on the GMA 900 - And that's with the "low quality" renderer, sans AA and AF. 800x600 is silky smooth, but isn't worth the loss in image quality in my opinion. Kicking the resolution up to 1280x960 made a big difference in image quality - the lack of filtering wasn't really even noticable, but the gameplay was just too slow for my tastes. Finally, the Hi quality rendering didn't seem to make a considerable difference in image quality, so it's not worth it. And lowering the color depth did nothing to help performance. I guess this wasn't too much of a surprise considering how poorly this game plays on my Mac mini. I just wasn't sure whether it was the CPU or GPU that was holding back the mini. Apparently, it was just an inefficient graphics engine. Nevertheless, it's a game and it's universal, so go get it. oZen
I downloaded this game yesterday. I played it in high and normal resolution, 16 and 32 color depth, and on my Athlon 64 3000 + Radeon 9800 (build 1099) it works well. But: the ATI buggy cursor is a pain here, when you quit the game, the arrow just disappears, transformed in some horizontal lines... annoying PS: try to find that red and blue glasses of your childhood Edited January 19, 2006 by oZen Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7176-nanosaur-2-is-a-unibin-again/#findComment-44753 Share on other sites
