I've met same blue screen with Leopard on my HP DV9500t with x3100 display card.

After seen this, I reboot the computer, and press F8 at boot up. Then use -x to enter safe mode, under which it showed me the interface. In the safe mode screen, resolution is "1680x1050" (can't recall clearly), which is my native screen resolution. But the mouse cursor is crashed. I just changed the resolution to "1600x1000", reboot. Then the Leopard show up after normal bootup.

Give it a try!
