Need help with Autofs on Leopard

Can anyone point me to an easy to follow, step by step howto on configuring autofs to mount a remote AFP share?

 

I've got a Linux server, properly configured run an AFP share. I can easily mount the share manually with the Finder, but would like to try out Autofs. All of the guides I've found online deal with editing the /etc/auto_master file, but don't really explain the meanings of each entry into that file.
