hello everyoneI need help deciding what RAM to buy for my new setup

Motherboard: Intel D975XBX2

Processor: Intel Q6600

Video: Nvidia 7900GS KO

DVD: Pioneer DVR-111D

I want 4 GB of RAM .What should I buy? The system is going to be used for various tasks including final cutso far i have been looking at the following:

CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820145590

and A-DATA Value Series 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820211062both of these I saw recommended somewhere on this boardWhat would be best?

will it matter to me to buy a Dual channel Kit, or just pair up 4 individual 1gb sticks?

thanks!

As long as you're not an overclocker/crazy performance junkie, you can safely buy any brand of DDR2-667 or DDR2-800 (or faster) and it should work just fine. Look for good reviews on newegg, I guess, if it seems reliable and good value...go for it.

Having 2x2gb or 4x1gb is the same, they will both run in dual-channel mode. You just need a sort of "symmetry" in your memory setup, ie not 1x512mb stick and 1x1gb stick. Catch my drift?

Ask if you need more advice...

I'm running 2GB of DDR2/800 (see my sig below). From a cost perspective, you are probably better to go with 4 x 1GB in matched pair kits. I've overclocked my E4300 from 1.83GHz to 2.88GHz and the RAM is doing fine.
