Kirth Gersen
How does Apple calculate the checksum of their CDs and DVDs? How do they put the checksum into their installation script? How can something checksum itself and then insert a value into a script without destrying the said checksum? I'd like to be able to tailor my own installation DVD, filling out the empty spaces with drivers and upgrades, so I can be independent of the Internet for installing a known configuration. If I just add some files to the DVD, the checksum in the installation script will be wrong. Is it possible to calculate the correct checksum and then replace the value in the installer script? How?
