I installed OS X not knowing about the whole X200M issues, and boy did they hit me right in the face. I've spent two days straight looking for answers to this. I've reinstalkled Callisto, edited PCI ID's, and wiped the HDD and reinstalled OS X with so many different drivers that I can't remember them all anymore. But all of them have had the same exact result: OS X will not display a resolution higher than 1024x768.

Ideally, I'd get the full 1440x900 of my laptop's screen. I'm using an HP Pavillion dv8000 - a laptop which, miraculously, nobody else seems to have. So I can't get proper support on it because nobody has it. It seems to be the anomaly of HP laptops, because it uses an AMD processor (Turion 64) AND the ever-odd X200M chipset.

All I want is resolution increased. I don't care about QE or whatever else. Right now, the goal is solely increasing the resolution. Nothing else.

I've tried using different boot commands. I've reinstalled Callipso v.003 (fixed) multiple times and entered the proper device ID. This kind of thing worked to enable the wireless network card on the laptop, but for some reason it doesn't fly well with the graphics card.

I'm looking for a real solution. If anybody has one, please post. All I want is my precious screen real estate - wouldn't we all!

I was able to get it up at 1440x900. I just kept trying more and more drivers, and I must have been putting in something wrong because trying v0.003 of Callisto again worked. The PCI device ID I used was 5955. I switched from 5A42, I believe, which did nothing.

Obviously still no QE or CI support. I don't quite know the benefits of these, since I'm not a big mac user at all. I'm assuming they are the two parts of OS X that make up what generates most of the imagery in the GUI, and without it performance slumps downward.

Knowing that QE and CI support for the 200M probably isn't coming anytime soon, I won't ask for it. However, this could perhaps be a discussion for that - I wouldn't want this thread going completely to waste. Surely there must be some avid driver developer out there who wants to give it a shot ). There are so many willing to make drivers for Linux! Is it wrong to compare the two developer pools?
