I have tried the new patched version and it offers no noticable changes... also my sound is only coming out of one speaker, its totally mono... and when you play music the byte rate sounds effected like people singing sound like chipmunks haha... normal sounds arent always on time and crack and sound full of static... Ive been asking around and playing with this issue for 4 days now... any feed back guys?

Upon closer listening it does only appear to come from one speaker =(

I had the same problem to on my inspiron 9100, I believe it's the same AC97 chipset, try booting with platform=x86pc and that should clear it up a bit
