nadavt
Hi All, I've downloaded ToH image, burned and installed successfully. Installation went fine and smooth (though it took about an hour and a half...) Rebooted the machine and for my surprise everything loaded and worked, just out of the box, even CI and QE! But... It does have a little problem, which makes life a bit tough. After suspecting that the system is using the HDD too much, I went and ran XBench and the result were pretty bad for my HDD (about 2mb/s). It is a Western Digital 160gb PATA. Leopard recognize it as 128gb. I had a similar problem back in Tiger 10.4.6 that was fixed with repaird IOATAFamily.kext and another kext I don't remember. anyhow, the method doesn't really work here. I've tried many combinations like replacing that kext with the original ones or tring to get them from the BrazilMac DVD. every method just gave me either a Kernal Panic or a "Still waiting for..." error. (Ofcourse I've tried only after chmod + chown + repair permissions + remove cache). Anyone got that problem too? Any solution?? Thanks!
