gillalo Posted November 9, 2007 Share Posted November 9, 2007 Hello all, I have successfully installed OSX on Dell Optiplex 240s and 260s many, many times in the last month or so. However, I very consistently have the following two issues: Safari crashes within 30 seconds on 90% of the websites it visits Other apps do not install -- period. They look like they are successful but they just don't work. Firefox is a perfect example of this: it installs but the icon just jumps up and down in the dock and nothing happens. I've tried all the usual stuff (repairing permissions, clearing user prefs, etc.), is anyone else having this (these) issues? Do I have a bad image? I am just doing something stupid? I am a PC guy but have used the Mac on and off for years and am moderately comfortable with linux. Help please. heliumkg Posted November 9, 2007 Share Posted November 9, 2007 Did you try opening the programs with Rosetta (right click, get info, check open using rosetta)? More information about your computer (cpu, etc.) and OS (which version of Tiger you installed) can help... if have a SSE2 only cpu, make sure you have the SSE2 patch for rosetta (but newer builds should have this patch incorporated already).
