Firstly here are my specs:

Dell Inspiron 1501

AMD Turion x2 tl-56 1600mhz 64bit compatible

ATI Xpress 1150 256mb

512mb ddr2 pc4300 operating at 266mhz (upgrading to 2GB soon)

60gb SATA HD (upgrading to 200GB soon)

DVD burner

Dell Wireless 1390 built in ethernet

I did a test using CPU-z and it came back saying it has the SSE3 instruction set. I read somewhere here that you can run OSX with a full feature set as long as you have the SSE3 instructions. Is this true or is it just a rumor? Can I expect this to go off pretty much as expected or is it gonna be a long arduous process eventually ending with me reinstalling windows XP out of sheer frustration? I've been doing my research the last few days and I have a GM copy of leopard that I installed on my girlfriends MacBook Pro on release day. So for the most part I'm ready to go minus backing up all my audio data to my external drive.

The reason I want to switch is because I'm a Logic Audio Platinum user who is still using Logic 5.5.1 when version 8 just came out for Mac (after support was completely dropped for PC altogether with the switch to version 6.0) and it has many features that I would find useful especially considering that Leopard's stacks option will pretty much let me customize my dock so that I can have extremely quick access to sound files without having to scroll through a billion windows and such.

I am currently typing this on the above mentioned computer with windows XP installed. I have another computer just in case this install gets messed up so I can get support. I also have my girlfriends MacBook Pro should I need to use it.
