tugonix
HI, today I tried to run GTA3 on my MacBook, without success. All I got was a msg, telling my that gta cannot find the 640x480 video mode. I am using the gametab cider version. I allready found in another thread that more people had had this problem, but I was not able to find a solution. tugonix Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/69451-gta-3-cider-video-mode/ Share on other sites
itshelloween
Try copying GTA3.set from a windows install, with the resolution set to at least 800x600, into the data folder in gta3. GTA3.set is located in your documents. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/69451-gta-3-cider-video-mode/#findComment-493004 Share on other sites
tugonix
It's not in the folder, maybe because I never ran the game. I installed GTA3 under VMWare, thats why I am not able to run the game. So, can please someone send me the GTA3.set file? itshelloween
If you are using a recent version of vmware you should be able to run gta3 in it, at least to change the resolution. tugonix
Ok, I forgot to enable 3D Support in VMware settings. I copyed the file to the data folder, but there is still a problem. When I run the program nothing happens, the programs exits after a very short amount of time without any kind of error msg. itshelloween
What version OS X are you running? Try this config file in "Contents/Resources/Preferences", and remember to remove "~/Library/Preferences/GTA3 preferences" folder. http://www.mediafire.com/?cyzltjsjzyj Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/69451-gta-3-cider-video-mode/#findComment-494783 Share on other sites

itshelloween
I can't think of anything else. Try this cider I downloaded off demonoid. http://rapidshare.com/files/67723105/GTA_3.zip It apparently works for others, I haven't tried it yet. Hope it works. tugonix
Used your files, it is like a time machine... the 640x480 appears again... are you running 4.10 or 4.9? itshelloween
I'm running 10.5. Did you copy GTA3.set into the new GTA3.app? EDIT: On this version you have to create a folder in "~/Library/Preferences/GTA 3 Preferences/p_drive/" called "GTA3 User Files" and put GTA3.set in that folder.
