Kifisonfire
On Tiger, I used to connect my MacBook Pro to my public folders on Vista to stream music and dump videos that I planned on watching on my HDTV after connecting my MBP to it. I followed a guide on the net and they connected effortlessly. Now with Leopard, everything seems to be ruined. Finder isn't showing any Shared computers (Shared isn't even in my Finder), even though Vista is connected on the same network. So I can look through public files from my PC on my MBP fine, but the other way round just isn't working. I'd really appreciate any ideas, since this is the only major drawback I've found with Leopard. I've heard a lot of connectivity issues between Windows and Leopard like this, but found no solutions as of yet
SquidCombo
Add the "connect to server" icon to your finder (customize toolbar and the icon is blue network orb). Click on the icon, and use smb://192.168.1.*** to connect to your windows pc.
Kifisonfire
I tried that and it said it couldn't connect. Then I looked away and back, and it appeared in the Shared list. Weird. Either way, thanks for the help.
caladan1810
I had the same problem but I had to change the firewall settings. Go to your Mac Options then select Security, then the Firewall Tab. Change to ALLOW ALL, click apply and ok then reboot and hopefully it should appear! let me know how you get on
