I've tried to install Leopard on my x86 pc first by use an file that i found that copies an image of leopard to a spare hard drive. When I try to boot this hard drive the computer restarts after about 5 seconds, i've tried to use the -v command so i can see where it hangs, but as it restarts, the text dissapears instantly..

I figured it might be a problem with this image file so i first tried to install tiger so that i could patch the leopard dvd and install it that way. The installation seemingly went fine and it says it was completed, but when i've tried to boot into it, it's done exactly the same thing, again the pc restarts so i can't see the error messages. I assume there is a way to log the error message as a file but even so i wouldn't be able to access it as i only have windows XP (or would i?).

I appreciate this is very vague but i was wondering if anyone knows what the problem is and a possible solution?

Motherboard : MSI MS7225

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6300

Ram: 2gb (1gb kingston + 1gb samsung)

Hard Drive: 60gb Western Digital IDE

Graphics Card: ATI Radeon X1650 pci express

Ok i've tried another Tiger DVD (uphuck) and it gets further, (which is weird as it's apparently designed for AMD).. It installs, boots, gets to the grey screen with the apple loading, goes on for a few seconds and then my screen turns off, but the computer is still on..

I see you're using an X1600 series card. These usually only work if you connect the screen using a DVI2VGA adapter instead of connecting the screen directly to DVI. Same thing you're describing happens with my system if I connect my monitor directly to DVI.
