Dear all,

I think I am so close to get my PC to become 100% hackintosh. I can have onboard sound and lan working. SATA works fine. 1950GT with QE/CI supported. But somehow.... I just can't reboot the OSX at all. If I choose it, it will stay at the last black screen message before the actually hardware reboot for ever.

Sleep mode also not works. To be more specific.... It can go into sleep mode but can't wake back.... After wake back to have screen by pressing the power button, only the mouse pointer can move but all button input (kb nor mouse) can be recognised.... So eventually, I need to hard shutdown by power button.

Is it mainboard chipset issue (not Intel chipset) or it is a BIOS power option issue? I heard that Mac OSX don't support S3 sleep mode. Can I solve it by selecting, say, S1 sleep? Anyone has experience on this??

Really need your help! Very appreciate! Thank you in advance!!

I had this same issue when i tried Mac OS X 10.4.7 and JaS' 10.4.8 without ppf1 + ppf2, but reboot worked just fine with JaS 10.4.8 with ppf1+ppf2, so it could be related to the release you're using...

As for S1 sleep, isn't that pretty much useless? IIRC, several components of your computer [such as fans] just stay powered on...

As far as i'm aware, the number of systems having working sleep [s3 sleep that is] are actually quite limited, and it's very hardware and OS X release specific. On my current system, i was able to get S3 sleep working after installing JaS 10.4.8 w/ ppf1+ppf2, then immediately updating to 10.4.10 w/ 8.10.1 hpet kernel using Koolkal's updater, but that stopped working after a while as well, probably due to some change in configuration or whatnot... On my old system i never got it working, no matter how i tried... Hopefully someone else can provide more positive news ;) Looking up your specific motherboard, etc... could be useful with this issue

All the best,

Hi 3phemeral! Thanks for your tips. Yes S1 works for me but it is really not much practical usage at all.... As many people in here said for AMD platform, Tubgirl's installer will be better so I may give it a try first....Thanks!
Hey e-ghost ... You can try changing your ACPI to S1 ... btw. how did you installed OS X on SATA with nForce4? Which installation did you use? Thanks!!!
I use uphunk v1.4 and choose NF4 SATA then it works without any additional add-on. It works immed. after installed.... :P
