Bloo
hope i dont offend anyone by posting a new topic if this has been talked through to death. but the Search function on here doesnt seem to be working. and i kinda need to get some answers as soon as possible. i installed OSX on a Dell Dimension 2400 that has an Intel 845GV chipset. everything is built into the motherboard. the video wasnt working. so instead i just went and got the least expensive video card at the store. installed it , changed the configuration in the bios and worked like a charm. now the problem is not getting internet to the computer. it doesnt seem to detect the ethernet at all and shows nothing in the Network preference pane. went and got a D-Link DFE-530TX+ from the store , put it in the slot and nothing. the card doesnt show up at all. tried looking for a driver but only driver available was for 10.4.2 any suggestions on how to get either ethernet card to be detected? i use a cable modem to connect to the internet. i tried using a USB cable to hook to the modem and it doesnt show up in the Network preference pane list either. so the video and the system all seems fine but without internet, the machine is kind of useless.
